Why the blog?

I write as the Spirit moves me. I have prayed about what I'm supposed to do with my life a lot. A lot. Writing. Writing is what I believe God is leading me to do. Whether or not He wants me to write for anyone to read is His business. Much of my writing has been therapy for me so maybe I'm the only one who is supposed to read it. So, why the Blog? As a sounding board, a note pad, a place to keep my ideas and thoughts. A place to share and promote my books, and photography. Written prayers, a place to vent. Possibly, even a place for the unknown reader to learn about the love of Jesus.

Ever Wonder...

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hug God? I do.  I'm a hugger. I love my husband and I love to give and receive hugs from him. I love my kids and love to give them hugs.  Same with friends and family. It's an expression of love.
I think the closest thing to receiving a hug from God is when I've stood in His presence. It's that feeling when I stood on a mountaintop and admired his work. Or when I'm in the presence of godly children singing his praises. Or when I've held a newborn baby in my arms. It's that feeling that my heart is so full and I'm speechless and all I can do is stand there, mouth hanging open and say 'wow'.
But to feel God reach out his arms and give me a gentle embrace, what a feeling that would be.
Several people have been privileged to hug God in Jesus.  Mary, the woman who bore him I'm sure hugged him numerous times. Joseph, too, I imagine hugged Jesus. He knew he was embracing God.  And then there are his siblings and the apostles. Did they hug Jesus and think, "holy cow, I just was hugged by God!"
I look forward to the day when I can stand in His presence an like a little child reach my arms up towards my heavenly father and say "Hug Daddy".
My son, approximately 7 days old.
